We've been using Alice's Agrishots for a few years now, and the quality of the photography and drone shots and just the relationship she establishes with the growers pretty much immediately, is second to none. For a contractor doing marketing stuff, farmers don't generally let down their guard that easy. It's always hard to get the grower to tell a story that seems natural and get them speaking naturally about a business.
Some of the material that Alice gets one-on-one with these farmers is just amazing. They let their guard down and they have a conversation. It's not fake, it's not prompted, it's just the genuine testimonials that these farmers, they genuinely believe in the businesses or the products that they're talking about. She doesn't get fabricated stuff, she doesn't prompt them, she just has a conversation with them and gets it to flow. One of the biggest frustrations that I've had over the time that I've worked at Farmsafe Australia, is the dearth of imagery featuring Australian agriculture, especially from a range of commodity and state perspectives. Most stock platforms are very skewed to American imagery and rarely showcases 'real farmers really farming'. One of the great things about AgriShots is that the imagery isn't staged, and all of the farmers are authentic farmers.
As a not-for-profit, we do not have the resources to engage photographers every time we need specific imagery, and it can be very difficult to brief photographers fully on what is/isn't appropriate or safe imagery.
With the need for fresh imagery for socials/campaigns/presentations, having access to a platform such as AgriShots saves so much time and energy in sourcing appropriate imagery. It's also fantastic to have the ability to speak directly to Alice about the image requirements that we have, especially because our needs can be quite specific (things like needing to see the seatbelt used or making sure that we have a few shots of PTOs with guards on etc). Alice can either direct us straight to the right collection of images or she can take those shots for us as she continues to travel and take photos for the platform.
Alice herself understands Aussie Ag and continues to look for best practice as she documents different farmers' practices, behaviours, and processes.

Back in 2021, over dinner, we found ourselves talking- again- about marketing. We'd tried marketing agencies before, but they never quite got it. Agriculture isn't just a market; it's a way of life. And that's something you can't fake.

As with any business owner, the first few times you engage a contractor, you try to be involved and on-site and just make sure you're happy with the job and every time that I've done that with Alice I've been extremely impressed and to the extent where now I give her a Google pin and phone number and she contacts the farmer straight away, organises days and times and availabilities.
It's really a hands-off process and as a business owner being busy, that's invaluable as well. She's always very polite and flexible with the farmers but just also makes that story happen.
She understands what story we want to produce. She understands how to add value to that story on top of what we think is the primary story. She just understands how to develop a relationship with a grower quickly and get on with the work, not waste time.
Will get up at four o'clock in the morning and drive somewhere to get the right sunrise picture. Will stay an extra day to get the right sunset picture with no fog or no rain or wait for the right cloud to come past. That artistic approach mixed with a marketing approach mixed with work ethic and storytelling, you probably won't find anyone else with those talents mixed in the same pool.
She's running a small business too and has a good team behind her. Some of the contacts she's shared with me, we've also utilised them to do different things like graphic design.
They're just unbelievable people to work with. Very generous of Alice to do that with us as well but just out there to help small businesses achieve what we need to. But then also we'll sort of blow the socks off most bigger marketing managers or marketing companies that want to do that.
